Rapid Dissolve Tablets (RDTs)

A rapid dissolve tablet is a unique dosage form that allows for the quick dissolution of the drug in the mouth. It was originally intended for oral, not sublingual or buccal absorption; however, many pharmacists have found it to effective both ways. Adding extra sweeteners as well as sweetened flavored powders helps mask the taste of bitter drugs.
